A New Normal

My inbox is filled with emails telling me what companies are doing about COVID-19. I suspect yours is too. All of the messages are the same: this is a big problem; we are working from home; and we look forward to serving you when things get back to normal.

 

The truth is:

It is a big problem.

We, too, are working from home.

But we do not think things will get back to normal. We think there will be a New Normal.

 

The COVID-19 crisis is a global reset. Your customers are literally sitting at home re-evaluating what is important to them. It would be irresponsible to assume that the products, services, and experience you provided before this crisis are just going to snap back into place. This crisis is changing what customers want, need, and expect.

 

The good news is that “this too shall pass.” Business will be back. People will return to the market. The question is: Will you be ready to serve your customers not knowing what they want, need, and expect now?
